I can't say for sure that there is a number 1 team in the league right now, but doesn't that make the league better as a whole? This year feels really competitive, and it feels like some teams are slipping, and some are salvaging the season and trying to make a run at it. Let's get into the Rankings.
Panthers are bad, but I don't think it is Bryce Young's fault. I'm not going to go as far as saying I think Stroud would be 1-8 with the Panthers, but I do think he would struggle with this team. Bad o-line, bad weapons, an okay defense, and a bad head coach. Hoping things change for Bryce Young's sake.
In 2023, the Giants beat the Vikings in the Wild Card on the road. Hard to imagine that they would be 2-8 the next year tho, right?!?!
For the Patriots I think it has become a question of will they have the first overall pick or not. This team is bad, and they have been drafting poorly for years.
I think the Cardinals are going to have a dilema on their hands, as they could have an oppurtunity to get a top QB in this draft, but they could stick with Kyler and build around him. I think at this point, it would be a stronger idea to build around Kyler with potentially the best WR prospect we've seen in years in Marvin Harrison Jr. Drafting a qb is really roling the dice if they will be good or not, and when you already have a young, good qb, I think it's an easy decision.
The Bears are going to win their way out of the Caleb Williams sweepstakes. I think the Bears are bad, but I can see them winning at least a few more games this year and putting themselves out of a top pick, and having them stuck with Justin Fields, for better or worse.
They don't move this week on the power rankings, because I think they went punch for punch with the Steelers, but I think some alarm bells are probably going off in Green Bay right now, and it's not just Jordan Love.
I will go on record of saying that I think Sam Howell is their guy, the kid can play. The problem is pretty much with the organization, as I think better decisions need to be made.
I really wonder what the Rams plans are for the QB position after this season, because I don't think Stafford is a viable option past this season. With his play and injuries, I think the organization needs to go a different direction.
Ugliest win of the year award goes to...
I think this team is playing significantly better without McDaniels, but I need to see wins against teams that arent the Jets or Giants for it to actually mean something.
I am not sure how Arthur Smith is let back into the building after that game. He should have been gone weeks ago. This team has way too many talented players to just simply not use them at all, just sad.
I don't know where this team has left to go, at least for this season. When Zach Wilson plays just okay everyone loses their minds on how this could still be a playoff team. They are not going to make the playoffs this year. If Aaron Rodgers tries to come back mid-December, I think he would be risking it for a lost season. He needs to get a full rehab, and go for it in 2024.
Not much to talk about with the Titans. Levis is okay, the team is just okay, I wouldn't trust them to win against a good team, but I would trust them to beat a bad team.
I feel the same way about the bucs as I do the Titans, but just a better roster overall.
The Saints gotta have one of the most confusing offenses of all time. is it Carr's fault? Is it Dennis Allen's fault? This offense is not performing when they have some pretty good weapons. The defense is top 5, however.
Worst 6-3 team of all time, statistically speaking. They haven't outgained a single opponent all year, and have a bottom 10 offense and defense yards-wise.
I think it's time to have a conversation about Josh Dobbs being a viable option for the Vikings as starting QB next season, as I think he is more than just a cute little story, the guy can ball out.
Back-to-back impressive wins has this Broncos team sitting in the top 15. Playing really good complementary football.
Should be playing a lot better than they are, and I think they are already planning to move off Geno after next season.
Herbert will always give this team a chance to win against anyone, and Staley will always give this team a chance to lose to anyone.
I don't think they have fallen off completely, as I still have faith in this team, but it does look a little bleak after letting the Broncos come in and get 4 turnovers and control the game the whole way through. I think Josh Allen's turnovers are a little bit of a problem, Only because he isn't being utilized to his full potential.
I don't know what Trevor Lawrence's excuse is at the moment, this offense has weapons, he has an offensive line, and a top 10 defense. Beating the Niners coming off a bye is a big ask, but to lose like that? T-Law has to start playing a lot better if they want to win the division.
This defense is good enough to carry this team into the top 10. Seriously.
The 'can't beat a good team' allegations begin to look more and more real everyday.
The Lions are somehow still underrated, the only issue with this team that really concerns me, is the defense has been a little lackluster the past few weeks.
CJ Stroud for MVP.
I still don't trust the offense in it's entirety, but the defense is holding up long enough.
This team is weird. Are they one of the best in football, or are they extremely overrated? I think they are pretty good, but it is going to be a long season with the divison they are in.
The Cowboys are playing good football, but the haters won't agree with you. They are legit, they are well-rounded, there isn't much this team can't do, and with a weak NFC in front of them, this team could be poised for a deep playoff run.
As soon as I put them at 1, they lose to an injured Deshaun Watson. They are amazing, but I would not trust them in the slightest.
The Niners are back. Got some guys back from injury, they got Chase Young for nothing, this team is back.
They are the only team that I feel safe putting at 1. I don't love them, but they are going to have to be the team I roll with at number 1.
