POWER RANKINGS: WEEK 13 THANKSGIVING EDITION

THANKFUL FOR: BEN JOHNSON

It's no secret that the Lions success on the offensive side of the ball, is thanks in large part to their offensive coordinator. He is almost talked about just as much as their head coach, Dan Campbell, and for good reason. This is one of the best offenses I have seen in my lifetime, and are heavy favorites for the Super Bowl from the NFC. I just know, come this offseason, Lombardi Trophy or not, Ben Johnson is going to have several teams calling his phone.

THANKFUL FOR: JOSH ALLEN (NOT TURNING IT OVER)

Josh Allen has been in MVP conversations for years now, but never seems to close out a solid case for the award. Large part of the reason, is that he simply had a lot of turnovers. Well, Allen has been one of the safest QB's handling the football this season, and it has put his team in a tremendous spot. He can still carry the team to victory when need be, but he's not as wreckless.

THANKFUL FOR: GIANTS PAYING DANIEL JONES

Apologies to any Giants fans reading this, but in paying Daniel Jones instead of Barkley, it allowed the Giants to not move on from Jones, and let a division rival in the Eagles take him instead. Doing so, tanked their franchise, and gave one of the most talented running backs in the league a great offensive line. The Eagles look great so far this season, and a large part of that reason is Barkley.

THANKFUL FOR: BRONCOS CUTTING WILSON

Similarly to the Giants/Eagles situation, the Steelers found themselves getting a future HOFer on a cheap 1-year deal. It has payed off. There is still a long chunk of the season to get through, but it is no secret that Wilson elevated this offense to a non-Steelers level. They aren't paying him squat, and getting good QB play, and making the Steelers feel like real contenders since 2020.

THANKFUL FOR: KING HENRY

I promise that this trend won't go on too much longer, but I mean come on. It's week in week out for Henry, and him and Lamar are breaking records. It's very easy to say the Ravens wouldn't be having as successful of a season without him.

THANKFUL FOR: MAHOMES IN THE CLUTCH

IF Mahomes wasn't as clutch as he is, then this team would have probably lost last Sunday to the Panthers. Now, almost losing to them is pretty bad as you can see by their placement, but it would be a much different story if they didn't have Mahomes playmaking ability. He has shown glimpses all year, and I believe is the reason why people reside so much faith in a team that is drastically underperforming.

THANKFUL FOR: MALIK WILLIS

When Jordan Love went down at the end of week 1, it seemed that the Packers were going to have an uphill battle the rest of the season, with their QB missing time. However, that wasn't the case, because Malik Willis went undefeated under center, and quite frankly had their most impressive wins of the year. When your in a division with the Lions, that helps a ton.

THANKFUL FOR: KEVIN O'CONNELL

He might genuinely be the best coach in the league. What he does to win games, and revitalize QB's, is on another level. He is 9-2, and has revitalized Sam Darnold's career. Never in my wildest dreams would I have expected that. The Vikings must never let this man go.

THANKFUL FOR: JIM HARBAUGH

This may be one of the biggest upgrades in terms of coaching, from last year to this year. Harbaugh has changed this team at a fundamental level so well, and so fast. I was optimistic about this team, and had them making the playoffs, however, only at about 9 wins. They are performing very well, especially their rookie class.

THANKFUL FOR: JAYDEN DANIELS

Look, it hasn't looked pretty the past few weeks for the Commanders, but at their core, Daniels is still a future superstar in the league. He is playing like a rookie the past few weeks, so what? This team's best football is in front of them, and they still have a ton of cap space for the future. There is plenty to be thankful for in D.C, especially Daniels.

THANKFUL FOR: NICO COLLINS AND JOE MIXON

I'm serious. If it weren't for these two players, then we could be looking at a playoff picture that has the Colts hosting a playoff game. Nico Collins has been the only lifeline for Stroud in a struggling sophomore season, and Mixon has rushed for over 100 yards several times. These two guys, have kept the Texans season alive and well.

THANKFUL FOR: FALCONS COLLAPSE

The Bucs have been trailing the Falcons in the NFC South the entire season, although that is subject to change. The Bucs are getting healthier, and the Falcons are falling apart. The Falcons have 3 games left against teams with winning records, while the Bucs only have 1.

THANKFUL FOR: VANCE JOSEPH

This could have been Bo Nix, but I still am not totally sold on him yet. I know, I know, he has played very well, but I don't really feel like he is the sole reason they are winning games, as oppose to the excellent defense. They are about top 5 in every category.

THANKFUL FOR: WEAK NFC WEST

Let's be clear, the Seahawks are included in that weak NFC West, but they are obviously benefiting from it by being 1st in the west. The Niners are injured and don't look the same on offense, the Cardinals have a great offense, at times, and the Rams have been lackluster. Does this team have a chance? Well, I'd say right now is as good as any opportunity that they are gonna get.

THANKFUL FOR: ROOKIE CLASS

Sure, the Cardinals may be underutilizing Marvin Harrison Jr, but that's not to say this hasn't been an excellent rookie class for the Cardinals. From Darius Robinson, Max Melton, Trey Benson, and Elijah Jones, they have been stellar.

THANKFUL FOR: GEORGE KITTLE

Hear me out. Just about every weapon on the Niners offense has either been dissapointing, or just straight up hurt. All, but Kittle. He has been a constant in this offense, and is putting up probably another Pro Bowl season under his belt.

THANKFUL FOR: JOE BURROW

Shocker. Going into the season, there was concerns about Burrow's health, and if it was really worth it having a great QB if they are hurt all the time. Well, it is absolutley worth it. He is having one of his best seasons in the NFL, which ironically, is his teams worst season.

THANKFUL FOR: PUKA NACUA

Cooper Kupp, and Matt Stafford have shown their age this season. They are still the legends that they are, but it is clear that they are on the decline. Having Puca in the lineup has helped this squad out a ton, and will be a kep piece for the future of this franchise.

THANKFUL FOR: TUA

Look, Tua's health is a discussion for another time, but I can safely say I was right about him before the season. I said he was worth the money, and we all saw how bad they were without him, and where they are now.

THANKFUL FOR: WEAPONS BEING USED

The season so far for the Falcons, has been a little lackluster. Fans were promised an improved team from last year, with a new QB and coach. That hasn't fully happened so far. However, the weapons like Pitts, Robinson, and London, finally being used, as they are all on pace for career years.

THANKFUL FOR: CALEB WILLIAMS (AND HIS PAITENCE)

Caleb Williams rookie season hasn't gone as planned, that's clear. However, I would still argue that we have seen plenty of flashes to keep fans excited. They are certainly not thankful for their head coach.

THANKFUL FOR: POTENTIAL HIGH PICK/NEW COACH

The Cowboys were already struggling when Dak went down, which meant that this team would more than likely hold a top 10 draft pick, and a lot of losses. Believe it or not, this is ultimately a net positive, as they need a fresh head coach and some good young talent, especially on offense.

THANKFUL FOR: PLAYING IN AFC SOUTH

This team has been disappointing in my book and my predictions, but so has the Texans. I wish they were more paitent with Anthony Richardson's development, but the crazy thing is, is that this division isn't completely out of reach.

THANKFUL FOR: KLINT KUBIAK

As we get into these weaker teams in the league, it gets harder to find something to be thankful for. Although the season ultimately has fallen apart for the Saints. However, everyone remembers their insane start, and thanks to Klint Kubiak. He has been a blessing to the entire coaching staff, and I would expect him to get a promotion somewhere.

THANKFUL FOR: NOT GIVING UP ON BRYCE YOUNG

Had the Panthers traded Young anywhere for a 5th round pick, as many reports were saying they might, they would be in a far worse situation than they are now. Since then, Young has played increasingly well, and has improved his stock, and may have given himself another season.

THANKFUL FOR: BEATING AFC NORTH TEAMS

This season has essentially been a wash for the Browns, but they have still had their fun this year. 2 of their 3 wins are against the Ravens and Steelers, two very good teams. At the end of the day, they will have a high pick, and some sort of bragging rights over their rivals.

THANKFUL FOR: TANKING SUCCESSFULLY

The Titans are tanking, and they are doing a great job at it. Will Levis is playing well enough to keep offensive weapons happy and staying with Tennessee, and it will pay off in the end.

THANKFUL FOR: FINALLY CLEANING HOUSE

But is it really something to be thankful for?

THANKFUL FOR: DRAKE MAYE

Maybe it's because the Patriots don't get many nationally televised games, but Maye has been maybe the best rookie QB considering his circumstances.

THANKFUL FOR: BRIAN THOMAS JR

Best rookie receiver this year. Not much else to be thankful for.

THANKFUL FOR: DRAFTING QB NEXT SEASON

The writing is on the wall, and fans are already starting to theorize just which college QB is going to vegas. Never a good sign for the current season, but certainly something to be excited about.

THANKFUL FOR: 1ST OVERALL PICK

It is very likely that the Giants end up with the number 1 pick. Which means, there is about a month where you are the most talked about NFL team, just in the offseason.
