POWER RANKINGS: WEEK 6

Another week, another Vikings win. This time, they did it without Aaron Jones, in London, no easy task. London games are often trap games for teams like this, due to the traveling and atmostphere, but the Vikings still looked good, especially their defense, yet again. They made the Jets do exactly what they wanted them to do.

It is well known that I do not move teams on their bye week, unless there is a key change like a significant starter or a coach fired. Lions stick at 2.

Their first win in 7 wins that didn't come within 1 score, and it was ultimately against Jake Haener in the end. I don't want to discredit them, but, the Saints really beat themselves. I moved them up a spot because I thought the wide receiver room looked really nice against a solid defense. That being said, this is a weak 5-0, you don't assume the top of power rankings simply off record.

This team took a drastic turn the past 3 weeks. They not only beat 3 good teams, they did it in a very commanding fashion. Sure the defense gave up 38 to the Bengals, but I give it a pass since it was a divisional game. This team feels like it is built to win a playoff game, and that is key here.

Much like the Ravens, this team has hit the gas pedal the past few weeks. It started with the comeback against the Jags, and then turned it into a strong victory against a tough Bills team, especially doing so without Nico Collins for most of the game.

The Bills have lost the past two games, and they haven't been super pretty. Got blown out by the Ravens, then lost a close one against the Texans. They were without Shakir their WR1, but a game they could have easily won. I am not jumping off the Josh Allen train however, because this team can and still will continue to make some noise.

I mean I can't keep them out of the top 10 anymore. Jayden Daniels is playing like a seasoned vet, and is arguably on pace to have a stronger rookie campaign than Stroud did last season. My concern for this team was the defense, but they have been about middle of the pack thus far into the season. This team will continue to beat the bad teams, but I am genuinely interested to see how they fare against a top team in the league. I guess we'll see next week.

Overtime losses sting in the regular season, especially in a shootout like Thursday Night was. That is why they stay in the top 10, as they were arguably a coin flip away from winning that game. I still think this team has some absolute fire.

That was a really bad loss for Seattle. They just let the Giants front 7 dictate the entire game. Geno was sacked 7 times, although that doesn't mean he is absolved of wrong doing. This was a total team failure, which is why I am not going to drop them too far. This is still the best team in the west right now, and I think they prove that Thursday night.

Jordan Love scares me, because I don't know what guy is going to show up on Sunday. He almost alternates between playing like Farve, and playing like Rodgers, it is so bizzare, but he definitely needs to start taking better care of the football.

I still am not totally sold on the Falcons yet, but this was a good first step. I want to see them not win a nail biter that could have easily gone the other way. I would also like to see them start running the ball a little better, as they are 26th in rush yards/game.

bye week, plus they get both AJ Brown and Devonta Smith back.

Is it time to make a QB change? The offense didn't look too great, but Fields wasn't terrible either. A really tough decision to make, and likely soon before the AFC North wakes up.

I am quite frankly disgusted by the disrespect that was thrown the Cowboys way after that win. Give the Cowboys their flowers, they went into Pittsburgh against a really tough defense and persevered. Good teams find ways to win, and the Cowboys did just that.

The Niners don't look like themselves. It is probably a CMC thing, but regardless, they need to find a way to start winning games without him soon, or else they could fall behind in the NFC West.

An ugly loss where they beat themselves, and with Carr hurt, they had to drop quite a bit. However on the bright side, It seems Rattler will be the starter, which can be a good thing, as they were excited by his play in camp and the pre-season.

Be careful, because Caleb Williams is looking better and better each week. It was the Panthers, but that was a very good all around win. I want to see one more week of improvement before I buy into it.

Is there really a need to rush Flacco out of a job right now? The offense has looked way better the past 2 weeks without Richardson, and with them being 2-3, they need to get on track to winning games, and I think maybe you ride with Flacco at least one more week to see what he can do with the offense.

A really nice win against the Niners, however, I am not taking the bait again. I think this team needs a little more juice on offense, and I think Trey Benson is that person.

This is a pretty weak 3-2 team. I'm not trying to be harsh, but there is not much offense going on here. I think the defense is even better than it was last year, but this offense needs to get Sutton and Reynolds more involved.

The Rams need this bye week more than any team has needed a bye week in a long time. They need to get healthy and figure some stuff out on defense.

Joe Burrow has arguably been the best QB in the entire league thus far, the recievers are healthy and going, and even the run game is solid. However that defense, is terribly bad. There needs to be a change on the defensive side if they want to recover from 1-4.

Daniel Jones is playing very, very well this far into the season. He's not turning it over, and he is being efficient on offense, and they just went into Seattle without their top weapon, and won. That win was either a fluke, or the start of a potential turn around for the G-men.

I don't want to say I called the Saleh firing, nor that it was deserved at this moment in time, because it is very odd to terminate him week 5 at an okay record of 2-3, BUT... I did kind of see it coming. Saleh never really proved himself as a great head coach. Was that a problem? Sure. I think the bigger problem was having to accommodate your entire franchise for a QB that has been extremely lackluster throughout this season so far.

It is incredible that this team has 2 wins. Truly.

And this is the team that is rebuilding that we all expected. I think it's hard to swallow your pride and tank, but, absolutely they should. Trade Adams, trade Meyers if you have to as well. Get draft picks and get your QB next year.

I think deep down we all knew they were bad, but they were never bottom of the league bad. Lawrence and the Jags really needed that win, and they got it. Is it the start of a season turnaround? No, probably not.

I mean, I think if you are the Browns and you keep losing, do you consider a QB in the draft?

So are we going back to Bryce Young being the starter? Because it literally couldn't hurt anything.

Well, Jerod Mayo doesn't read Rico's Sports Show, as last week I pleaded they don't throw Maye into the fire, and that is exactly what they are doing next week. I still think it is a terrible idea.
